Be the organised force behind the Councils Leadership

Located just a half hour's drive from Darwin and boasting the best of both worlds with all the facilities and services in a rural setting, the Litchfield municipality offers one of the best places in the Top End to live and work.

About the Role

We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to support both the CEO and Mayor of Litchfield council.

This is a pivotal role at the heart of council, ensuring both offices operate efficiently, priorities are managed and important matters receive the attention they deserve. You'll work across executive support, council governance, stakeholder communication and official events, using your initiative, discretion and sound judgement to keep everything running smoothly.

From managing competing diaries and coordinating correspondence to supporting council meetings and tracking resolutions, you'll play an important role in helping the council deliver on its commitments to the community.

Your day will see you:

  • Proactively managing the CEO and Mayor's diaries, appointments and competing priorities
  • Coordinating correspondence and ensuring timely, professional responses
  • Researching and reporting on special projects as directed by the CEO
  • Organising official functions and events, including Australian Citizenship ceremonies
  • Preparing agendas and documentation for Council and Committee meetings in line with legislative requirements
  • Attending Council meetings, taking minutes and coordinating follow-up actions

What's needed for your success?

You'll bring at least two years experience as an Executive Assistant, ideally supporting a senior executive or working in a complex, high accountability environment. Experience in local government, governance or council meeting processes will be highly regarded.

You will be someone who is:

  • Highly organised - managing multiple priorities, deadlines and details with confidence
  • Discreet and trustworthy - exercising sound judgement when handling confidential matters
  • A strong communicator - building positive relationships and engaging professionally with a range of stakeholders
  • Proactive - anticipating needs and taking ownership without waiting to be asked

If you're looking for a varied and rewarding role where your organisation, initiative and professionalism make a genuine difference at the highest levels of Council, we'd love to hear from you.
