About the Role

As the Communications Officer, you will take the lead on delivering timely, effective and engaging communications across multiple channels. You'll shape community engagement, manage issues, produce high-quality content, run social media campaigns, and develop communication strategies aligned with Council priorities.

Your work will include developing a community engagement framework, leading public consultation activities, delivering content across print and digital platforms, designing key publications, managing media relationships, and supporting major events.

About You

You're an experienced communications professional who loves telling stories that resonate and engaging with diverse audiences.
You bring clear communication, strong creative writing skills, and a proactive approach to planning and delivering campaigns.
You can confidently navigate media relationships, community expectations, competing priorities, and multiple stakeholder needs.

What You'll Bring

  • A Diploma or relevant qualification in Communications, PR, Social Science or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in communications, engagement, or community relations.
  • Strong skills in digital communication, social media, content creation and publication design.
  • Experience managing community consultation, stakeholder engagement and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
  • A NT Driver's Licence and ability to obtain a Criminal History Check.
